public function up()
{

        $table->timestamps();
    });
}

public function up()
{
    Schema::connection('mysql2')->create('users', function (Blueprint $table) {
        $table->increments('id');
        $table->string('firstname');
        $table->string('lastname');
        $table->timestamps();
    });
}

Database connection in Model

Default

namespace App;

use Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\Model;

class User extends Model
{

}

class User extends Model
{
	protected $connection = 'mysql2';
}

        return $find;
    }
}

Second

<?php

class UserController extends BaseController
{
    public function show()
    {
        $user = new User;
        $user->setConnection('mysql2');
        $find = $user->find(1);
        return $find;
    }
}
